Sovereign window already shut
In 1679 the Stop of the Exchequer is already past. Amsterdam has not yet issued the 1683 receipts. The Bank of England is 1694.
The 1672 Stop suspended payments on much of the royal debt sitting in goldsmith books. That closure is not a new statute on this page.
From 1683 the Wisselbank will issue receipts for coin left on deposit, so the balance and the metal claim can be sold apart. That is not this year. London’s public note-issuing charter is 1694.
