Silver dollar already off the list

The standard silver dollar is already off the coinage list. The statute that names a resumption date has not been passed. That Act is 1875.

The Coinage Act of 1873 left the standard silver dollar off the list of coins the Mint would strike. That change is already law. This page does not rename it.

The Specie Payment Resumption Act is the next year. It will name 1 January 1879. Payments have not resumed, and the date is not yet statute.
