Second Bank chartered

Congress charters the Second Bank of the United States for twenty years. It is not a modern central bank.

In 1816 Congress chartered the Second Bank of the United States for twenty years. Its notes circulated. It presented state-bank notes for specie.

This is not a modern central bank. There is no Federal Reserve until 1913. The veto of a new charter is 1832. The existing charter runs to 1836.
