1827
England paying gold again
In 1827 the Bank of England is paying gold for its notes again. The United States is still on the 1792 mint ratio.

Full gold payout resumed in 1821. The pound can be tested in coin. That resumption is already in force. It is not a new statute this year.
The United States still defines the dollar in gold and silver at the 1792 ratio of 15 to 1. At that ratio gold often left and silver stayed. The change toward roughly 16 to 1 is 1834. Jackson’s veto of a new Bank charter is 1832.
