1942
Official price $35
In 1942 the official gold price is $35. The Treasury does not redeem currency in gold for the public. Bretton Woods has not been signed.

The Gold Reserve Act of 1934 set the official price at $35 an ounce and barred the Treasury from redeeming currency in gold for the public. That rule is in force.
Private holding of monetary gold is still restricted. The restriction runs through the end of 1974. The Bretton Woods agreement, which keeps $35 for official holders, is 1944.
