The paper mark stops working. The Rentenmark is the stop that follows.

In 1923 the German mark lost practical use as a unit. The sequence starts with war finance and the Ruhr, not with a slogan about printers.

The Rentenmark is how that particular collapse was stopped. It is not a model for a later trade, and it is not John Law’s 1720.
